This is interesting:

Cerveceria Freiduria (lit. Brewery Chip Shop)... The name says it all really!! Once I'd worked out what the name meant there was a definite %26ampquot;SCORE!!!%26ampquot; *Punch the air in excitement* moment. :-)
This set of signs broadcast the identity of a bar (which served food, like chips) located on the lovely Malvarrosa beach. It's a demomnstration of something I found amusing about the Spanish language. Almost every business that sold a service was identified by taking the word the for the product or service; in this case Cerveza meaning %26ampquot;Beer%26ampquot; and adding the suffix %26ampquot;eria%26ampquot;. So a bar is a Cerveceria.
I don't know if it is %26ampquot;official%26ampquot; proper Spanish or just a convenience by the business owners. It made for very easy identification of the businesses for non (or poor) Spanish speaking tourists, like me.Las Fallas, Valencia - 2010
